Water Softener Systems

The non-proprietary Fleck systems we install — proven valves, inexpensive parts, and no dealer lock-in. We size every system to your water test and household, then quote it with no pressure.

Every softener below is built on a Fleck control valve — the industry's most trusted non-proprietary platform. Parts are widely available, any qualified tech can service them, and the designs have been proven in the field for decades. Each system comes complete with high-capacity resin, a mineral (resin) tank, a brine tank with safety float, and a bypass valve. Not sure which one fits your home? Start with a free water test and we'll size it for you.

Fleck 5600SXT metered digital water softener with resin tank and brine tank
Our Go-To for Most Homes

Fleck 5600SXT — Metered Digital

Fleck's most popular residential softener, and the one we recommend for most San Antonio and Hill Country homes. The digital SXT controller meters your actual water use and regenerates only when you're close to running out of soft water — typically overnight — so you never waste salt or water on a fixed schedule.

  • On-demand metered regeneration — uses less salt and water than timer-based units
  • Easy-to-read LCD display shows time, remaining capacity, and cycle status
  • Memory backup retains your settings and usage history through power outages
  • Immediate, delayed-meter, or delayed-time regeneration modes

Fleck 5600 Econominder mechanical metered water softener with round brine tank
Most Durable — No Electronics

Fleck 5600 Econominder — Mechanical Metered

The same trusted 5600 valve with a fully mechanical meter instead of digital controls. This design has been running in homes for over 40 years, and with no circuit board there's nothing for a power surge or lightning strike to damage — a real consideration on rural Hill Country wells. It still regenerates based on your actual water use, not a fixed timer.

  • Fully mechanical — immune to power surges and outages
  • Metered regeneration keeps salt and water use efficient
  • Field-proven design any water-treatment tech can service
  • Simple to set and virtually maintenance-free day to day

High Flow — Larger Homes

Fleck 5810SXT — High Flow Digital

Fleck's newest high-flow platform, built for larger homes where a standard ¾" valve becomes the bottleneck. Same on-demand digital metering as the 5600SXT, on a bigger valve.

  • 1¼" high-flow valve — up to 36 GPM service / 47 GPM peak
  • On-demand metered regeneration for salt and water efficiency

Fleck 9100SXT twin tank water softener with two resin tanks and brine tank
Twin Tank — Soft Water 24/7

Fleck 9100SXT — Twin Tank

Two resin tanks that alternate automatically: one is always in service while the other regenerates, so you never run out of soft water — even during regeneration. Because it regenerates with already-softened water and switches tanks based on actual usage, it's noticeably more salt- and water-efficient than single-tank preset systems. The right choice for big families, very hard water, and light commercial buildings.

  • Continuous soft water, 24/7 — no downtime during regeneration
  • Alternating twin tanks save roughly 15% on salt and water vs. preset systems
  • Valve engineered and tested to the equivalent of 27 years of daily use
  • Great fit for large homes, high water use, and light commercial

Which size do I need?

Softener sizing depends on two things: how hard your water is (grains per gallon) and how much water your household uses. Undersize it and it regenerates constantly, wasting salt; oversize it and you paid for capacity you'll never use. That's why we start every install with a free water test — we measure your hardness and recommend the right valve and tank for your home, with an honest quote and no pressure.
